The role of the oxidizer is to quickly age wood to give it an older appearance. This is important for example, when a section of new wood has been used to repair a piece of furniture. You will not be able to match the look of the woods by staining alone; newer wood will simply end up looking new and stained. This can be solved by using Sutherland Welles Ltd. Oxidizer Concentrate. For most woods, oxidizer turns the wood brown or weathered gray. Oxidizer on pine, diluted Light, yields a buttery light brown. Dark will turn the wood green but when stained with a color that has red in it (Warm Pine) the combination of the green and the red will produce a rich brown hue.
